Nowadays, all countries and cities have hospitals where doctors work. People, who save our life and protect human’s health, wear white coat. Today the white coat is as much a part of a doctor's image as the hard hat is for a construction worker .Many people probably thought about why doctors wear white coats?Firstly, I want to tell a little bit about the history of the origin of white coat.In the 1800s doctors tools and techniques were archaic. In those days people doing amputations and surgeries would wear black so that when blood would get on them it would be hidden. And so about 100 years ago there became this trend of doctors wanting to project the opposite image. In a way saying:”I am not covered in blood, I am not one of those messy guys that's going to amputate your leg. Look how clean I am.”Black coats became beige and beige became white, to further associate the medical field with part of science. However, doctors wear white coast not only for to show that they are doctors. It is necessary part of their job, because it protect their from different germs and bacteria, which are transmitted from patients. As a patient I can say that, I like it when my doctors where a white coat. It's reassuring in a primitive kind of way; it calms me down. I see that it is a real doctor who is capable of taking care of me. But the coat should be clean - every day a fresh one, with extra changes if needed.
